The Housing and Development Board will launch nearly 2,900 Build-To-Order flats with waiting times of about three years in November. These include about 1,300 units in Sembawang with a waiting time of just two years and 10 months.
In a statement on Sunday (1 November), HDB said that, including the Sembawang flats, it will have launched 4,661 Shorter Waiting Time (SWT) flats this year. It had previously pledged to launch more than 4,000 such units this year.
Together with the nearly 4,700 units launched last year, HDB will have offered about 9,350 SWT flats over two years, putting it on track to meet its target of launching 12,000 such flats between 2025 and 2027. The statement said this reflected HDB’s continued efforts to maintain a steady supply of flats and shorten waiting times to meet Singaporeans’ housing needs.
Sembawang Anchor, which will be offered in the November BTO sales exercise, is in the new Sembawang North estate, about 1.2km from Sembawang MRT station in a straight line. Its waiting time is two years and 10 months.
The project comprises six blocks with 1,310 flats. One block will include rental flats. According to HDB’s website, the project has 330 two-room Flexi flats, 100 three-room flats, 460 four-room flats and 420 five-room flats.
The neighbourhood will have a preschool, eateries, a supermarket and other shops for residents’ convenience, with Sembawang Mart a short distance away. A neighbourhood centre and a new park equivalent in size to 1.4 football pitches are also planned nearby.
HDB will also launch one BTO project each in the east and west, with waiting times of no more than three years and two months. Both projects will also include rental flats.
Bayshore project next to MRT station and near East Coast Park
Bayshore Oasis in Bedok town is in the new Bayshore estate, right next to Bayshore MRT Station. The project comprises four blocks with 855 flats. According to HDB’s website, about 60% of the flats available for application are four-room units, with two-room Flexi flats making up the rest.
The neighbourhood will have a preschool, a minimart and other shops. Residents will also be able to dine and shop along the adjacent Bayshore Drive. Under the Bayshore Masterplan unveiled in 2023, Bayshore Drive will be lined with shops, eateries, supermarkets, healthcare facilities, and sports and recreational amenities.
A key selling point is the project’s proximity to East Coast Park, which residents can easily reach on foot or by bicycle. A new park is also planned next to the project.
Tengah project offers White Flat option, extended to five-room flats for the first time
Plantation Dew in Tengah will also have a waiting time of three years and two months. The project is about 450m from Tengah Park MRT station, which is under construction, and a new park will be built next to it. The neighbourhood will also have a preschool, eateries, a minimart and other shops.
The neighbourhood will comprise five blocks with 710 flats. According to HDB’s website, the project has 180 two-room Flexi flats, 80 three-room flats, 170 four-room flats, 250 five-room flats and 30 Three-Generation (3Gen) flats.
One feature of the project is its White Flat option, which will be offered for five-room flats for the first time, in addition to three- and four-room flats. White Flats have no partition walls between the living room and bedrooms, giving owners greater freedom to design their layouts. They could, for example, create a larger living room or bedroom, or set aside a workspace. HDB previously offered the White Flat option at Crawford Heights in Kallang/Whampoa and Mount Pleasant Crest in Mount Pleasant.
HDB’s November BTO sales exercise will offer seven projects across Sembawang, Bedok, Tengah, Geylang, Toa Payoh and Yishun.
